About this Event

All Students: July 26th, 2020 – 12pm – 4:30pm

(Demo Team members can compete in Sensei Says only)

How It Will Run:

Students will film a video of their traditional form and karate basics, then email it to coachclark6@gmail.com by the end of the day on July 22nd. On July 26th (actual day), students will be accompanied by the judges and fellow competitors to review each video submission, then will undergo scoring one-by-one. For students participating in the game, we will be doing that after the traditional forms and basics divisions in real-time through Zoom. *Video Submission for traditional form and karate basics ONLY**

1st, 2nd, and 3rd trophies will be available for pick-up on the following Saturday at the Dojo, 12pm-1pm.

  • Traditional Forms (Ki-Cho or Pal-Gwe 4)
  • Karate Basics (Demonstrating: 8 horse middle punches, 4 front stance high blocks, and 5 jab-cross roundhouse kicks)

Rules:

  • Full uniform on, looking sharp in the video and on July 26th
  • No pets, family members, or distracting objects/backgrounds
  • Have enough space to do the entire form without leaving the frame or readjusting your position, full-body needs to be showing at all times
  • No editing videos or resubmissions! It has to be done in one take, however, you can take as many videos as you want. Once you send a video, that is the one you will be judged on *No exceptions*
  • We recommend that students perform on grass, carpet, or mats for safety precautions
  • Please make sure to have a solid internet connection for the LIVE game on Sunday July 26th

Email videos to coachclark6@gmail.com by the end of the day on July 22nd

  • In the email please put the student’s name, age, belt level, and divisions in the “Subject” line (Ex. Joe, 8 years old, purple belt, basics and forms)
  • MP4 formats only!
  • If you are competing in more than one division, please send oneemail and separate videos for each division
  • Please review videos before sending, resubmissions are NOTallowed

Please note: Students must show up on the Zoom call on July 26th at their division time to participate. If a student submits a video but fails to show the day of, they will be disqualified.
